me and I commisioned it though I was never asked to check so it has its sword in a very weird place , very weird..and you ask a very complicated question no known image on the web.. they would be in musician coat colour of the kuirassier regiment which is usually reversed colours unless it is Garde du corp and possibly Karbiner garde, as for the drum banner your guess is as good as mine..i painted them blue lace is normal regimental lace which is anything but easy usually button colour up to 3 lines of facing colour..probably impossible to do..I just left it white as I did the Garde du Corp, you need Friedrich's book and then work off the trumpeters uniform..to do Saxons you have to be a bit of a detective and mind reader.. |

and it goes without saying that with the lack of information, there shouldn't be anyone telling you that you have painted them the wrong way. If challenged, then just reply, "prove you are correct, show me your resources". If a detective such as His Eminence, the Cardinal, couldn't find it, then I doubt that anyone else can either. I think that his idea about the reverse colors for all musicians makes the most sense. |

from studying Friedrich that is the way to go, except for the Garde du corp which is yellow coat, blue cuffs and turn-backs and the Karibniniuer garde..I need to dig out Friedrich anf the German dictionary I think for the others you are safe with reversed colours, which is facing colour and whir cuffs and turn backs..as the trumpeter is in tunic and the men in straw coloured collets then it gives a bit of colour to the units..i don't think grey horses are mandatory for Saxons..the one I did was on the usual dark horse I always do German heavies on..I did it as figure on a base with an officer who was doubling as the cuirassier commander..if the person I did it for eventually bases it I might actually get to photo it I have a sort of WIP picture I might hunt up.. found it link |
