I saw this one on BBC 'click online'. mapsofwar.com has little movies showing the progress of the progress of wars, democracy, religion. The number of maps is not large. Could be an interesting site to watch.

Yes they are. Seems the evolution of democracy over a period of time without bloodshed doesn't interest them.
