Today I made a royal killing for my Post Apocalyptic/Zombie/Pulp gaming! Got a 24

24 pine/spruce looking trees for .25 cents!!! I've been needing something like these. I also got another 1/43 scaled car to add to my table top fleet of vehicles. The only downside is the car has Mountain Dew decals all over it. Does anyone know a technique for removing these decals without messing up the car's paint job? |

Does anyone know a technique for removing these decals without messing up the car's paint job? Are you sure they're decals, and not painted on at the factory? |

Ummm
. Now you got me second guessing myself. I'm not sure. After a closer inspection I do not see those characteristic clear outlines that usually surround decals. If it's painted on I guess I'll have to remove the paint. Only problem is that this is the type of car that is riveted together and cannot be taken apart. |

Isn't it more convenient just to repaint the car? From what I've heard, stripping die-cast cars is a chore. |

Take a regular drill and carefully drill out the rivet(s) on the bottom of the chassis. Then the model will come apart just fine so you can work on the bits independently. Superglue does a grea job of replacing the rivet(s) when you are ready to reassemble. |

If you wish you can even drill a smaller hole down the centre of the column that forms the rivet, and reassemble the car with metal screws, but I've never bothered and just glue it. You only have to take off a couple of layers to paint the car, to get a surface the paint will stick to and that way, it's still primed. |

They were little spruce looking plastic trees on an old Christmas silk plant arrangement. I got the whole arrangement for 25 cents. Only the spruces were of any real use. And they were kind of flat on one side. So I just hot glued two halves back-to-back
made 24 trees! That is going a long way to helping me place foresty terrain on the gaming table. |
