Does anyone know if there is any significant value in a game called CONFRONTATION by Gamescience? I vaguely remember getting at the same time as the original DIPLOMACY at a hobby shop in Ann Arbor, and I imagine there weren't alot of them made. Any help would be appreciated.

Everything is in the game, but the box is a little damaged (broken corners and a split on the side) and someone wrote some addendums on the margins of one page of the rules, but all else seems to be in the box.

I couldn't find Confrontation, but there are two other games on Ebay by Gamescience that are going in the $10 USD to $20 USD range.

On the boardgame geek website write Troll and toad say they will buy copies of it.

Troll buy list has it for $180. USD

So I would not sell it for ten bucks.

For what its worth, Troll and Toad are on the pricey side for games. But, I wouldn't let it go for $10 USD either. ; )

Just seen a copy of that go for about £40.00 GBP on Ebay over here.

I'll take it for $10! (just kidding). Never heard of it.

That's the one with the little black mushroom clouds?

Used to play it back in the 80s – it was pretty slick!

If it is the one I am thinking of the map was very nice. It looked like a Rand McNally or National Geographic map with lines and dots on it for movement. It may have also been on vinyl or oilcloth, not paper.

The pieces were very plain, just different colored squares and circles and some of different sizes.

If that is it then it is definitely worth something to a collector. I don't know if it was a very good game or not.

Right now the Consimworld.com boardgame forum site is down but when it comes back up you should ask over there (in the marketplace folder) and I am sure someone will know more about the value. Then again, it might not even be the same game I am thinking of.

Thanks everyone for the comments, Tony you are correct that is the game, it is a Rand McNally world map with lines (it is a little bit like oil cloth, but don't know exactly what the material is.

I think I'll wait to see if the consimworld.com comes back online.

again thanks folks.

It is amazing what can be found when you are a packrat.
