Does anyone know which units of the RAF were sent to Northern Russia in 1918 – 1919? I am especially interested in trying to identify the unit flying the RE8's in June 1919.

On the Archangel front there didn't seem to be proper units but scratch forces. In Canadian in Russia 1918-1920 we read of the RAF Elope Expedition, Flight A in Obozersaya (DH4's) and Flight B at Bereznik (RE 8's, Nieuport 17's & Sopwith Strutters, the last found in crates on the Archangel docks)The headquarters was a barge on the river. of the thirty pilots and observers half were Canadian and most had little experiance in flying.
