of someone actually producing some female figures for sci fi or horror that aren't dressed like prostitutes or lap dancers? I mean just normal, everyday people. Ok they may have guns or some other weapon but do they have to look like that? |
| Techman | 05 Aug 2009 12:41 p.m. PST |
Hmmm lets see
a bunch of nerd gamer sculptors who the only chance they get to look at girls is online
so yeah they will pretty much always look like that I agree though some female figures dressed normal in work skirt/pants and a shirt or even jeans and a tank top work. |

Some Metal Magic SF figs from the 80s were OK, I know somebody is producing some Metal Magic figs, so maybe they are doing them too |

eM-4 also has a few female figures dressed in normal clothes. |

The Urban War Militia have several figures that are reasonably dressed (who sculpted those figs, btw?), but I agree that more normally dressed females would be nice. That's not to say I don't love Copplestone's "Babes with Guns"--I do. But I imagine that many women will ditch the miniskirts and high heels should a zombie apocalypse occur

Yeah that was a bit of an alcohol fueled rant but it does tick me off. When I run my zombie apocalypse game I don't want it to look like it's a porn B movie :) Thanks for the suggestions btw |

"But I imagine that many women will ditch the miniskirts and high heels should a zombie apocalypse occur
" Underwear and bare feet? Sounds worse. |

There are alot of female figs dressed in military type clothing if you look around. There is alot of stuff out there. Look at megaminis and superfigs for civilian figs, they mostly have reasonable outfits. Chronoscope also has a few who arent too overthetop. Sure there are too many implant specials wearing next to nothing but do they really out number the gandalf wizards, lol? BTW barefeet is better than heels

A porn B movie zombie apocalypse game. Sounds fun! Oh, you 'don't' you say
Strange fellow. |

Honestly, my first thought here was, "About as soon as they stop sculpting the rest of the non-female figures to some idealized or holywood inspired standard." Face it, the miniatures industry isn't exactly full of "average guy" figs of any type, outside of historicals, and even many of these are still picture perfect. -Eli |

"barefeet is better than heels
" Other than the high incidence of zed parts on the ground, sure. Heels are not action adventure wear

Apart from the packs at actually are hookers, the Foundry Street Violence line. GW's Battle Sisters may have boobs on the power armour, but that armour is as fully enclosed as the stuff the (male) Marines are wearing. Females in Infinity tend to wear the same as the males in the same unit. |

Yeah, I remember my first beer . . . Dozens if not hundreds of companies make non-porn modern female minis. What's the matter, can't see the forest for the knees? :) |

LOL jpattern2 maybe the full moonshine from those butts has turned my head

BTW I've been looking everywhere for the superfigs 2 civilian packs and can't now find them anywhere – anyone know where they've gone? Discontinued? |
Frederick | 05 Aug 2009 5:43 p.m. PST |
Copplestone has some female troopers in the Future Wars line that would be hard to mix up with lap dancers (unless you like to lap dance with an L2A2 AP grenade) |
| jpattern2 | 05 Aug 2009 6:27 p.m. PST |
GG, the three Superfigs civilians packs are indeed great minis. They still show up on the Superfigs site: link And in Old Glory's store: link Search for "civilian – pack". |

Normal clothing could mean anything! If you put someone in shorts people keep thinking they still look like they're in a porn, even though if I stop moving in a shopping centre on a weekend over 50% of females walking past me have shorts. but to make a mini of one apparently it gets automatically put under the pron banner? Short skirts/dresses are normal around here too. "normal clothing" depends on whether you live in Australia or, like the majority of wargamers, Siberia. |

As Tom Reed says, we do most of them arein our 'Adventurers' section. link you will need to scroll down the page because as the range has developed over the last few years they have become more 'post-apoc'/sci-fi/horror and further away from typical fantasy |

I actually think SF is quite well served for reasonably dressed females, 15mm especially. Fantasy is a different matter. |
| Farstar | 09 Aug 2009 5:07 p.m. PST |
RAFM also has a few "near future" types in reasonable dress. |
| khurasanminiatures | 09 Aug 2009 5:28 p.m. PST |
Well, for what it's worth, I just have, in 15mm: link |
