Figured I would try a little more outside the box for something more fun and less lethal. I want a magnetic mine system with remote detonator. This is not meant to outright destroy the enemy, instead, it's a means of convincing the guy you stick it to that he has better people to shoot at than you. If he is lucky, someone, maybe even him, will get you before you hit the button. Oscillating laser that points out the front/back window to attempt to blind enemy drivers. High end models might also be used for a laser designator or as counter measure for laser guided ordinance. Launcher for fragmentation rounds filled with magnetized metal shavings that bellow out from the shell to make their way into weapons and engine air intakes to increase the chance of weapon or engine malfunctions. Even heavy armored vehicles are scared of their guns getting jammed . . . . . . As above, but shells filled with some form of pepper or itching powder designed to incapacitate or at least irritate a vehicle's crew if the vehicle is not air tight. As above, but shells filled with LSD or similar hallucinogenic compound that can be absorbed by the skin. Effected crew roll on the "Trip" table to see how they react to their new state of being . . . . . some might even OD if the dose is too high . . . . Advertising Sponsor Stickers – These do not stop bullets, but the longer you stay in the game and the better your performance the more you get paid at the end of the match by your sponsor so you can buy new toys or fix broken ones. You do need to survive the race. (Stickers may be destroyed by certain types of attacks voiding any payments from the sponsors . . . . ) Loud Speakers to play your favorite tunes for the fans, play advertising from your sponsors, yell insults at your competition or make sure the All Mighty hears your last prayer before you reach the big junkyard in the sky . . . . . LMG and HMGs, autocannons, missile launchers.. |

Love the stuff on this list so far, but I'd like to add: vehicular-scale tazer (nice electronics your car *had*
.) a ram for the front (or rear) bumper reinforced belt armor to protect from that ram armor of different materials and therefore different properties & costs (plastic, metal, ceramic, wood, composites thereof
) rocket boosters (for the vehicle, not the weapons) (see also ram, above) 18 wheelers! quads some alien device
never sure what it might do
shields? phasers? tractor/repulsors? mind-altering EW/ECW? holographic projections? wait, no! not that button! :-) Perry |

Blades projecting out from the side of the vehicles to help mow down pedestrians :) Cutting into enemy vehcles would be cool too besides weapons, additions to improve car performance as well - nitrous - spoilers, air dams - aerodynamic frames |
Doctor Bedlam | 04 Aug 2009 11:00 p.m. PST |
Please note that the Ram Plate is one of the things that destroyed Car Wars. Mines, caltrops, oil slicks, smoke jets. Dropped weapons! |
Top Gun Ace | 04 Aug 2009 11:21 p.m. PST |
Twin 35mm cannons for me, in addition to rockets, and the stuff mentioned above. A Molotov Cocktail Gun too, with beercan-sized bottles of the stuff, set to go off on contact with enemy vehicles. Mixed with sticky stuff, to keep it in place at high speeds, once it hits the target. |

Definetly try and include rules for Combat Bikes (more maneuverable, fewer weapon load-outs, less ammo
) as well. I can just picture a bunch of them chasing down a Semi-Truck like a pack of wolves. Will this be based on the Reaction System? BTW Ed we are big fans of your work in my household. Thank you for bringing our family closer together through your work. |

Looking at articles about the old Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8 video games, or actually playing them if that's your thing, might help you get a few ideas as well. This thread has been pretty comprehensive though. Mongo |

Giant "V" metal snow plow for knocking objects out of the way like a cow-catcher on a train. |

Broken Halo – Similar to the vehicle rules in ATZ which does use the Reaction Test. But there will be a "twist" not used before. Thanks for the help folks! |

Interstate '76 (old PC game, great fun and an awesome soundtrack) has a lot of good examples. I think Vigilante 8 was a spinoff of the Interstate series. Absolutely performance upgrades. Engine hop-ups, better tires, lighter frames and bodywork. |

Say, Ed, have you seen the Uncle Albert's catalogs for Car Wars? I suspect you'd find all the inspiration in the world in there
|
Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy | 05 Aug 2009 3:47 p.m. PST |
Hi Doc – Haven't seen it. How would I get a copy? |
chironex | 05 Aug 2009 7:24 p.m. PST |
Dozer blade? Saws of various types? Grinders, cutters, rollers like those of a shredder? Bullbar? Girders welded into the frame poking out the front ending in points? |
Only Warlock | 08 Aug 2009 12:29 p.m. PST |
Hey Ed, I think I have one of the Uncle Albert's compilations. I'll see what I have |

Ed, there is a used '2035' edition on eBay right now for 12.99 Buy it now with Free shipping. Do a search for "Uncle Albert's Auto Stop & Gunnery Stop Car Wars". If I remember right, 2035 woud be a 1985ish publication. Probably not the lastest, greatest, but 40 pagers of stuff (some silly, too) Oh, it looks like the Troll and Toad ebay store has the same edition for 6.75 +2.72 shipping (also a buy it now).
