Jada
the guys that make all the blinged out diecast lowriders and such
just put out a line of 1:64 diecast armed and armored cars. There are Dooleys, 57 Chevys, you name it. Most are great
a few pieces are exceptional. They run $2.99. Some of the chasis are repainted with different weapons to make other cars but I think there are at least 10 distinctive models. Will try and find pics. |

Here they are: link Apparently they have the same ones in 1:32 and up as well. They are also coming out with an RC version where the cars shoot at and damage each other progressively (although these looked like 1:28 scale). |

YES!!!! I've been converting the Jada "For Sale" series for use in Dark Future games
I love the FS series because they have that future-used up look: link Some pictures of the converted Jada stuff is on our blog, link above. Cheers w. |

Nice work
.these will round out what you have nicely. I hope they flush out the line. |

Hmmm
I think your link is wrong (well, the link is fine, but the search criteria you used was a bit off). Jada just released their Battle Machines in three different scales. In 1:64 there are 12 cars in the first wave. For some odd reason, they only show 11 at this link: link The set has 6 different models, each in two paint schemes. Missing from the above is the "other" 70 Dodge Challenger. The link you provided has some 1:32 scale models in the mix (the first three vehicles listed). A few weeks ago I picked up a full set of 12 (in 1:64) and they are excellent! I hope these sell well enough to justify a second wave of Battle Machine vehicles. |

I've been looking for those and haven't seen them locally, so I bought a case lot on eBay. I wish they had the 1/64 Mustang in black. They have it in black in another scale, but not in 1/64. |
peterx | 05 Aug 2009 12:49 p.m. PST |
WOW! What a cool thing. I wish I had loads of money. 8^D I'd buy them all. |
chironex | 05 Aug 2009 3:31 p.m. PST |
Jada do not make 1/64 models, they just slapped the label on them. They are much bigger, typically. Wehrmacht: how do the cars fit on the track?! |
cloudcaptain | 05 Aug 2009 6:07 p.m. PST |
These look closer to true 25mm than most hotwheels cars which are more along the 1/72 lines. That's package scale for you. As car wars games don't really use units of infantry
1:64 scale and 1:72-20mm mixed should look fine. You could even use GZG metals if you stuck to them and older scifi sculpts. Stan Johansen will be benefiting from this I think
as will Aberrant :) |
Thornhammer | 05 Aug 2009 6:31 p.m. PST |
Yes, as a matter of fact, I can confirm that both of those companies have benefited from this. :) I ordered both sets of "accessories" from Stan Johansen (my main complaint is the shipping cost for the size of what I'm getting, but what are ya gonna do), and in the mail today I received a Warlands Battle Box. Also, I found three of the cars at Target today – a Camaro, the cop Mustang (nice), and a '57 Chevy Taxi. A little disappointed with the armor plating, but I'm overall pleased. I think the cop Camaro is going to get a coat of flat black primer and a few chainguns. I *liked* Death Race! |

mmitchell | 05 Aug 2009 8:56 p.m. PST |
Cool. I've got a whole bunch of Jada Toys for my Pulp games. This would be a really COOL reason to get back into CAR WARS (haven't played since high school). |
cloudcaptain | 05 Aug 2009 9:40 p.m. PST |
Thanks for the pics Chironex. I think that the 1:72 is a tiny bit small but would be corrected by basing him
and the Hasslefrees to be a bit large. Luckily I have many oversized 20mm and 1:72 that are really 1:64 that should be the happy medium. Have to do something with all this BF: Evo and Corgi diecast stuff :) |
SNTG Wolf | 06 Aug 2009 5:08 a.m. PST |
Just saw these yesteray at my local Wal-Mart, so I suppose you can find them there as well. I also saw some great 1:87 scale Cat heavy equipment diecast--can't recall the manufacturer though, sorry. Thought these would be great to convert into post-apoc Mad Max style "heavies." :?) Wolf |

These are really, really nice! Just picked them all up at my Target. Looks good! |
The Beast Rampant | 06 Aug 2009 9:43 a.m. PST |
Crap! My local Target has none, but they are still involved in resetting other parts of the toy section, so maybe they are holding out some stock til them. |
chironex | 06 Aug 2009 3:22 p.m. PST |
Base the 1/72 figure and he looks like a child standing on a kerb instead of a child standing right next to the car. The Hasslefree figures look big as they are based so they are at kerb height. Wolf those are probably the Norscott Scale Models CATs. The prices on those are so immense I could never bring myself to buy one and mutilate it for PA, even the ones with crappy plastic tracks are the same price. You can get certain of those vehicles (not the cool ones) for the same price on the back of a lowloader being hauled by a Peterbilt truck. I know all this as I have been looking for a bulldozer to make into a killdozer for some time and finding the only cool ones being over $150 USD just for the most basic model. Try here: link |
