I still need to spice up their bases.

I am now working on a bunch of the bad guys.

Oooh, I love that first hare.

I like the grass patches better than the bare dirt bases.

That light yellow/buff fur really looks great.

Excellent paint jobs.

Thanks,

I totally agree with you on the brown bases. I will definitely put some grass on there in the coming days.

I am finding the evil/rebel guys are a little harder to paint up. Not because they lack detail, but because I want to paint them more evil looking. Doing so sort of limits my options. I need someone like Steve Dean to paint some up to give me ideas.

Right now I am painting up the bad guys based on the Redwall books. So far I have read 3 and have painted up 3 bad guys from the books.

Well, a rat's a rat, no matter how you paint him.

The foxes paint up really great, and I think they look sufficiently villainous just by being foxy: "Meet it is I set it down, that one may smile, and smile, and be a villain."

I love your painting style. I wish I could paint like that. Absolutely stunning figures! Beutiful work.

I like them.

My first impression was that each figure was standing on its own individual heap of dirt. However, the figures are charming. The detail on the faces and your paint job bring them to life. Very well done.

Blacksmith,

I bought a book that really helped me out.

Basically you use 3 shades for all your painting. It is actually a really nice way to paint and makes your miniatures look really good, even if your not a great painter.

I find that I excel using certain colors and suck with other ones.

Foundry sells their paints based on the Foundry System. A shade, a base and a highlight.

Some of the Foundry bases and highlights seem too off color for my liking.

The foundry paint sets that I really love though are

FLESH 5
FOREST GREEN 26
ARCTIC GREY 33

While painting up some rats I found that using the Foundry Flesh 5 Shade mixed with black is a great shade mixture for their flesh areas.

I love the Forest Green and Arctic Grey sets.

My thinking for basing the figures was to have Heros and such stand taller than the normal trooper types. The Heros bases are made up of a 25mm base with a 20mm base on top of it. I have yet to devise a really cool basing system for my figures.

I have a bunch of frogs on order that I plan on doing some sort of swampy base.

I really like the 'robin hood' character, and the hare with the monocle.

Very nice paint job! :)
