Could some one who owns this game please let me know if it is a good WW 1 air warfare board game? Also, how big are the plane counters? I look forward to your info.

It's been a long time since I've seen my old copy of DP but boardgame geek has a nice section on it.

And of course there is the DP webpage.

Hope that helps you.

It's nice. I have fond memories of it. I think Wings of War would be a better choice.

I have to check my copy but I think it's almost RPG lite?

Gracias,

my first ww1 air combat and still my favourite. The counters are approx, 1" square.

The counters are one inch square. The basic game is very simple. The advanced game adds more detail but isn't to hard to pick up. Not really a role playing game as you only play a pilot and fly missions. As your number of missions flown and number of kills goes up you get bonuses for your pilot in flying and gunnery.

As mentioned above, the game is fairly simple. Certainly as good a 2d game as you can find. I like Blue Max better but . . . just my preference.

Its ok but a bit outdated. The rumored new edition has been just that for many years. I know they have people working on updating plane stats and researching new planes and a few rules but it should not have taken this long.

The pilot experience portion of the game is pretty decent.

Overall I like it and would gladly play it any time.
