How many figures would you advice per pack/blister?
The usual 4…maybe 5…maybe more?

Lentulus30 Jul 2009 5:17 p.m. PST

That rather depends on the scale.

Generally, I like packs priced around $4-8 with a competitive number of figures but few enough to give flexibility. I especial dislike large, costly command packs.

If you are going to run this as a poll, you will have to specify scale or look at some other basis.

I mean, if you will sell me 5 figures for what the other guy want for 4 and the figures are just as good, *sure* I want 5.

If it is 25% more expensive and all the figures are identical (and not line infantry) then meh.

What he said (about scale). My answer is 96, or 50, or 4.

For figures to make up "units", I think that 6-8 is a good number for 25/28mm.
24 figures is a happy number for a unit in ancients, 18th C, and all kinds of periods.

If you pack more than that, you are unconsciously dictating the number of figures in a unit. This can be awkward, particularly when command figures come in.

As long as they are all different ….no duplicates

I'm with the OFM on this one: In 28mm, 6-8 line troops and 3-4 "command" figures are the sweet spot for me. I prefer them to all be unique, but the "line" troops can be two of each kind if there aren't 8 different figures.

Or in other words, what Crusader and Artizan do. :)

No Bleeped texting blister packs!

"As long as they are all different ….no duplicates"

Which, of course, is not what you want if you are doing 18th Century. This is a real "one size does not come close to fitting all" story

For 18th century command: I want TWO Standard Bearers and possibly two drummers.

Crusader had one standard bearer and then came out with a blister of 4 standard bearers, seperately.

I make 36 figure units so ideal would be two officers of different poses; two standard bearers; two drummers and two NCO's then the standard infantry pose for the rest.

Now ancient hordes I'd like as many different as possible.
