I'm quite happy with the results. What do you think?

Excellent stuff. I generally find that making your own, be it adding the appropriate stain to a varnish or ink to future/klear, you get better results than with premixed washes.

I agree with Nathaniel. I started with Minwax a decade ago. After a while I found out how to work with Future/ink. It is hands down a superior product to everything else out there. Spend 10 bucks and you have enough for years. The ease of using Future is unbelievable.

Thanks,

John

Those look really good,I think the colours you've used for the base paint help it to work really well.

One thing I've found experimenting with washes and dips is that some colours work better than others browns, reds, golds, yellows and creams work really well. Green is not to bad but blue just looks horrible and dirty when I've tried washing it or dipping it.

I could of course swap to a blue wash but that looks odd on everything else. Washing different parts of the model with different colours would slow the whole thing down and whole point of dipping/washing for me is to speed up my painting time.

Anyway good job.

Yes, dipping works worse with cold colours such as blue, grey and white. Thus a hoplite army looks really good with dipping and a templar one is a no no.
Regarding Future I'm sorry to say that it doesn't exist where I live (Spain). OTOH, with this mix the figure is already and strongly varnished :)

Thanks to all for the compliments :)
