Hello there.

I am trying to find some sources on the Drummers and Sergeants of the 1st Regiment on Foot, just to make sure that they were not any different than in other regiments. I am aware of the fact that the drummer would have blue wings, but would there be any further differences? I have heard that sergeants of the Guard had golden lace. Would that apply for the sergeants of the 1st Royal Scots?

I would be thankful for any hints.

Regards,

P

I've not got a book to hand at work, but the musicians of Royal Regiments normally had golden-yellow lace with a central blue stripe.

Re gold lace for sergeants; I believe that was unique to the Guards.
