I am currently using Old Glory for all my 15mm SYW, and while I like the figures, I am not that keen on the quantities in their blisters. I would appreciate any feedback on other manufacturers and the quality and size of them compared to OG. At first glance there doesnt appear to be that many around! |

Most of my troops are OG with some FreiKorps and Essex (mostly cav). FreiKorps has a pretty good line. They a little smaller than the Old Glory (I wouldn't mix in the same unit) and look great on the table. They also make smaller packages. Battle Honors makes cossacks for their napoleonic range which are also good for SYW. They're very nice sculpts. Essex has a fairly large range. They much cleaner sculpts. Also keep within their own units as they are stockier than the OG. Minifigs also make a large line, although I don't have any of their figs. There are a few other mfgs, but I forget who as I don't have their figs. But at least it will get you started. |

Funny. My 15mm British, Prussian and Austrians are exclusively Old Glory. Every figure has been painted and based. My French, all Essex, proved the biggest headache trying to organize command packs and foot or mounted. I always had to order an extra bag to finish a squadron or battalion. If you have excess figures, I am sure there will be interests for them here. Cheers, Robert 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com |

I have mostly OG and the only figures I think mix ok with them are Essex. As stated above Essex are a bit stockier but about the same height. Freikorps and Minifig are about the same size but are quite a bit smaller than OG and I can't put them on the table together. I tried basing Freikorps on thicker bases but they still didn't look right to me. Eureka also makes a line but they are closer to 18mm and to my eye are too large to use with the OG stuff. I've heard of people mixing all of the above but it really depends on what looks right to your eye and what differences you can live with. |

Lancashire Games are also larger figures that might go well with OG and are sold (at least the last time I saw, which was quite a while ago) in smaller packs. |

Can anybody please help me with the ratio of command to soldier figs in the OG15mm SYW bags? Thanks in advance! |
