I wanted to share a free resource I found on the web. The English Heritage website has free, downloadable summaries of many of the ECW battles. Here's a link to the summary and pdf for the Battle of Cheriton 1644. link Make sure to download the pdf which gives much more information. What's particularly nice about them is that they try to describe what the battlefield probably looked like back when it was fought. They are also foot noted as to their sources. If you do a search on their site you can find descriptions of many of the larger battles. |

The one for Adwalton Moor is pretty good. The Naseby Battlefield Trust site isn't bad either. Finally try an interesting history blog "Investigations of a dog" especially the authors take on ECW cavalry charges. |

Excuse the threadomancy but since English Heritage was split into two bodies the battlefield report index appears to have gone. I can find individual battle reports but not the full list. Anyone know where it can be found? My Google-fu has let me down! |
