Any chance that this line my start up again? I was taken aback when Topps dropped the line almost a year ago. The Star Wars line they kept running and I know Pirates did have a bigger fan base and was in hopes that it would start again. Anyone else wondering? I do miss those little ships> |

So far, no one has picked up the line. NECA is picking up the Heroclix line. As far as I know, that's it. The SW game was a dog. I bought packs for $1 USD and felt I wasted money. IMO Pirates had reached its end. It was just getting weirder and sillier. I own a couple hundred Pirate ships since the base set. I also own lots of other Wizkids CMG products, so I'm not a typical TMP guy who like knocking these games. Shuttling gold gets old, so I'll eventually use the ships for something else. |

Pirates had 'jumped the shark' well before the plug was pulled. |

Just curious but they released about 10 expansion sets for it with hundreds of ships in total
but you want more? Everyone I know who plays or played it had many more ships than they could possibly use, including myself. |

Me too! I have about 750 ships and about 150 Junks and about 100 turtle boats from the series. They are often available on ebay and ebay stores. Cost has come down except on the super rare ones in the past several months. VR James Mattes |

I concur. I have scads and scads already, I can't imagine where they could take it next, though I had hoped they would have tackled 'proper' ironclads, but they never did. They had fanciful ships and 'historically accurate' ships
plenty to pick and chose from. I kitbashed my own rules for them. One of the big problems was the existing rules were so simple that they could only be expounded on so much. How many dozens of ships could you have that +1 to their boarding rolls? It always annoyed me most how they so infrequently matched up a ships special ability to it's flavor text (or appearance). Every target I have been to lately has Ocean's Edge packs cheap-cheap. Want to trade minis of most any kind for some of my spares? I've got hundreds. A very clever game concept, neat little ships, but yeah, where to from here? |

Target has them at reduced prices. They have a single pack at $1.99 USD and a two pack plus extras for $3.99 USD I think. They also have a boxed set – $14.99? My local Target has a fair amount of them. I've picked up a few sets – maybe even enough for a game, but have yet to play. I will be that way this coming week and can pick up some and ship them to you if you'd like. That goes for anyone else looking for some. Can't guarantee which sets they will have, though. |

My local discount book store is currently selling Star Wars and Pirates packs at £1.00 GBP each! I bought the last few packs from one of the Pirates display boxes and the manager gave me the display box – it contained The Black Pearl, The Flying Dutchman, a one-mast ship who's name escapes me, and The Interceptor! I was not interested when Pirates was released, but since I'm getting a lot of ships at very cheap prices, now is the time to buy the packs! My small collection has 100 ships in it, and I'm going back for more today! |

FWIW I have also seen guys selling them at HMGS flea markets in the past. Also check out Cotton Jim's Flags. He use to carry the line and had them last time I saw him. VR James Mattes |

I also was board with shifting gold around and used the modified rules I found on line for Naval battles with the ships intead. Anyone have an extra HMS Dauntless from Pirates of the Carribbean line? or the Beastie? |

Just bought 40 packs today – got loads of new ships! The discount store now has no Pirates packs left thanks to me! They said they'd try to get a new batch in for next week, but can't guarantee it. Anyways, I've spent tonight with my kids building ships. They can't wait for the mega-game tomorrow! |

Update: I played against my two sons today, with two 50pt fleets – I got the British, and they took the Pirates, complete with bandanas, eye patches, and lots of pirate talk! We used the family dining table as the "high seas", and proceeded to chase each other around it, stopping off occasionally for gold. They soon developed the tactic of ganging up on a ship and blowing it away. In the end my entire fleet was sunk and they had over 75% of the gold coins available! Kids got massive gloating rights, but a re-match is planned for next weekend. |

I may have to check them out too. Mine have been in the attic since the fourth release, but my oldest is just about at the age to start enjoying them. Skipper |

I thought it was a fun game, but then we never got stuck "shuttling gold" as so many have said since we mostly just ignored it. I seem to vaguely recall that the rules mention that even
I do like the ships, and I'm planning to write up some rules to use them again. They look nice and they're cheap, so it can't get a lot better than that! |
