These are some 28mm scale buildings I made for a "Song of Blades" campaign. There's an inn, a store house, and several houses, I hope you like them. I didn't spend much time researching, so any suggestions are welcome :) picture picture You can download them here until I find a better place for them: megaupload.com/?d=B7GYCNRY |

Domo arigato gozaimasu Just what I need for my samurai game. How did you make/design them? I only ask as I would be intereseted to see what else you can make. |
D6 Junkie | 24 Jul 2009 4:04 a.m. PST |
Wow, Many Thanks! Just what I need for my 20mm figs. Are you using straight Song of blades? |
Pentaro | 24 Jul 2009 4:59 a.m. PST |
shelldrake, I did them with free textures and Photoshop, in fact it's very easy as I used some parts from the first building to do the rest. I didn't have much time so I've used very few textures. D6 Jukie, I warn you they're quite big, so you might want to reduce them for 20mm. We used SBH plus skills from the other books. Rules like Assassin, Combat Master or Dashing really suit the Chambara genre :) I made the buildings because many characters had Stealth and/or Climbing. |
PaperMakeiT | 24 Jul 2009 5:20 a.m. PST |
Hi Pentaro, I love your buildings, they are quite well done. Would you like to upload them also in Download Section of Paper Make iT ! papermakeit.com ? It is a Section dedicated to many free paper crafts for gamers. |
Captain Gideon | 24 Jul 2009 7:46 a.m. PST |
Your buildings are very nice but they're not for me since i have 15mm,and need buildings in that scale. Captain Gideon |
bjporter | 24 Jul 2009 9:46 a.m. PST |
Reduce the print size by roughly 50% and they should work fine for 15mm. |

Thank you for those. Only thing I would ask is please use a zip file rather than RAR as they are a pain on Windows
Thanks Andrew blog.kings-sleep.me.uk |

Darn you, Pentaro! Darn you to Heck for a 15-minute time out! Isn't enough on my plate that I have Egyptian and peninsular terrain and forces to do, without dusting off all those unpainted Samurai to play SBH with? AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Skeptic | 24 Jul 2009 3:35 p.m. PST |
@AB: So, how do you open a .RAR file in Windoze? @Pentaro: Domo arigato gozaimasu! |
Chris V | 24 Jul 2009 4:37 p.m. PST |
Pentaro, please do upload them to papermakeit. Megaupload tried to do some unsavory things to my system. The glimpses I've gotten of your buildings look great! |
setsuko | 24 Jul 2009 9:17 p.m. PST |
RAR files are not difficult or a pain in Windows. 1. Install winrar, which is free and you should have it anyway. link 2. Right click on the file. 3. Scroll down the menu to "extract here" if you want the file to end up in the same folder or "extract to" if you want to choose another folder. 4.Done. |
Pentaro | 25 Jul 2009 1:25 a.m. PST |
I'm glad you liked them :) You can upload them to papermakeit if you want – or anywhere else as long as they remain free. I don't trust Megaupload

Downloaded, printed, and preparing to construct em. Now, how about a set of walls, gate, and tori??? |
mikeah | 25 Jul 2009 6:44 a.m. PST |
All of the security stuff on this computer screamed when I clicked the link. Is everyone aware that this link installs an executable? I run linux so windows executables don't run, but there was no reason for any executable for a picture file. While I disallowed the download, I won't try it again. |
Pentaro | 25 Jul 2009 9:41 a.m. PST |
Now, how about a set of walls, gate, and tori? Don't hold your breath :) I'd rather buy the resin walls by John Jenkins or Oshiro Models instead. Flat paper walls would look wrong, and some kind of hexahedron would be unpractical. I use WinXP + Opera and I've never had any problem with Megaupload, or heard about any. |
Cpt Arexu | 25 Jul 2009 11:52 p.m. PST |
I like your models. I have just put together the first one (the Almacen), and I plan to build a whole set of these for my plastic samurai and ninja to fight over/around
I could swear I've seen somebody's cardstock walls and gatehouse, and Lesack had a Torii (and there were others), but my first choice would be the resin too. |
setsuko | 26 Jul 2009 3:08 a.m. PST |
You can also make a torii gate with three pieces of sticks, so it's not nearly as labour intensive as putting together a scratch built house. But the cardstock houses are a very good idea and they have a very nice Edo look to them. |

Very nice, arigato gozaimasu! Looking forward to using these. |

Now that Ronin is out
anyone know if these are still about the net? Thank you |
ScottWashburn | 07 Feb 2014 9:04 a.m. PST |
PaperTerrain has a nice set of Japanese buildings. link |
Borathan | 07 Feb 2014 10:16 a.m. PST |
Scott, for that price you would end up paying as much/more than some of the laser cut stuff. |
Lion in the Stars | 07 Feb 2014 12:18 p.m. PST |
@Sky Captain: I have a copy on this computer, drop me a PM with your email address. Thing is, they're BIG files, ~3meg each. |
Borathan | 07 Feb 2014 8:20 p.m. PST |
@Lion in the Stars: Any chance of another access to it, I'd like a copy myself. |
ScottWashburn | 08 Feb 2014 5:49 a.m. PST |
@Borthman: Which laser-cut stuff are you referring to? |
Borathan | 08 Feb 2014 6:01 a.m. PST |
A lot fo the ones like the 4 Ground and plasticraft ones seem to pop up off and on on E-Bay for under 30. Though it does seem that the paperterrain ones ended up cheaper than the first time I'd opened the link |
Lion in the Stars | 09 Feb 2014 12:29 a.m. PST |
@borathan: send an email to lioninthestars at gmail dot com (replace the spaces and appropriate symbols), I'll figure out a way to compress these or send 2-3 emails. Since they were posted for free sharing by their creator, I see no issues with sharing them myself. Maybe I can figure out a way to do a public dropbox or google doc

Well, they look brilliant. Any way of sharing you can find would be much appreciated. |
Lion in the Stars | 09 Feb 2014 9:01 p.m. PST |
if Pentaro doesn't get back to you, drop me a line Joby. lioninthestars [at] gmail [dot] com (replace the square-bracketed words with appropriate symbols and remove any spaces) |
Monkeywithtacos | 17 Jan 2015 5:14 p.m. PST |
Lioninthestars, sent off an email in hopes that ou might be able to send me a copy of the files. If not, no worries. Thanks in advance. ~MWT |
Anarchy | 04 Apr 2017 8:17 p.m. PST |
Does anyone have a copy of these files? Looking to make a set for Ronin. Thanks! |
Lion in the Stars | 05 Apr 2017 9:39 p.m. PST |
OK, I'm going to get lazy and just share a Google Drive link. link To the best of my knowledge, everything in that link is free to share. If you are the copyright holder to anything there, please email me at lion in the stars [at] gmail [dot] com (no spaces and replacing the appropriate characters, spammers can go do something anatomically improbable), and I will remove the offending materials within 24 hours. |
infman | 06 Apr 2017 8:58 p.m. PST |
I was just about to email you to try and get a copy! Thanks a lot for making these available. |
