Wells Expeditions has received confirmation that their distributors have received the 2 player demo games. These are available for free to all retailers.

If you are a player who would like to try out the game, get into your LGS and let them know! If you are a retailer, call your distribution rep today and get your free copy while they last!

Origins was a huge success for us. We demo'ed the game all weekend long and got a lot of great feedback:

I have posted the demo rules at:

We are now getting ready for GenCon, where we will debut the finished product and have a limited quantity for sale. The actual release date is September 30th.

Oooh. Looks pretty cool. Any idea on when it might be out on the market?

If only I had a game store within 2 hours of me, oh well will have to wait till Sept 30th to try it out.

Got handed the demo pack last week by my FLGS to read the rules and assemble the troops.

Gah! Soft plastic with glue-required assembly!

The rules look workable. The writing in the demo package is hampered by some dependence on non-existent pictures. The constant reference to a website full of videos that are not yet available is also a problem in the short term.

The need for a specific turn gauge is unfortunate, and these had better be commonly available outside of the starter. Just saying.

The sculpting and painting ranges from acceptable to BLECH.

The description of the starter and booster set structure is confused and, from the point of view of a retailer, possibly scary. The amount of shelf space required is a complete mystery, as is the number of different SKUs that may be required.

As a gateway to R&F "ancients" wargaming, this looks neat. As an attempt to lure the kids away from card games and WoW, I have my doubts.

A further point of doubt: anyone who gateways off of this game will head straight to Warhammer. Is that really what the designers want?
