And took a few pictures, now on photobucket: link A very few are not WWII, sorry. Toward the end there are 3 images of a WWII AA gun – clearly an AA mount, from 20-40mm based on the guns around it, top loading like a Bofors. I am thinking Japanese from the quaint carriage, but does anyone recognize it? |

The 88 shield is very weird with the curved shield. Was there any information on it? Great photos, thanks. -- Tim |

Cool. I was there about 30 years ago (whew!) and was very impressed. Take a look at their Internet site. Lots of exhibit photos and information. warmuseum.ca/cwm/home |

It's "Iroquois", not "Iraquian". |

Acharnement, 30 years ago you saw the old War Museum on Sussex Avenue. The "new " War Museum is in the West End and is many times larger than the old one Here is their Web site warmuseum.ca/splash.html Only a couple of the vehicles and guns now on display were shown at the old museum |

"It's "Iroquois", not "Iraquian"." Memo to self: Do not try complex operations in the middle of the night after a flight. I got the war wrong on the armored car as well. Allen57, I do believe that is it. Next time I get there, I will look for some sign of the leg supporting to the front. I take it from the URL on the gif that it is Japanese? |

Allen nailed it. It's a Type 98 20mm AA gun. link I wondered about it the first time I visited the old equipment area of the War Museum and asked. Took a while to find someone who knew the answer but eventually they did. Nice pictures. |

Wikipedia has a nice picture of the Type 98 from the Beijing Musem taken from a similar angle to your picture. picture |
