Clay Of Many Names,

That was a great write-up of a battle, great photos, coherent well-informed narrative, but one heck of a body count among the generals! I was just beginning to think Lannes was going to get lucky and keep his legs…..

So Napoleon dies childless… what happens next?

(I would love to do something on this scale but even in 6mm only have French IV and Austrian 6 Korps.)

Nice looking game. Great photos and narrative.
The only thing that bothers me are the white caps, which I know, are part of the game mechanic, but it disrupts the look of your game.

Thanks for Posting!!

Lovely game and table. The Austrian battery is very impressive.

I also dislike systems that use casualty caps, shame to go to all that effort with the painting and scenery then spoil it all with such obtrusive markers.

Many ways around casualty caps, it's just one option.

Inverted flocked markers are my favorite, but we also have a slick way of using a roster system that is fantastic.

It's also equally troublesome to go all the trouble to play a large Napoleonic Battle, battalion by battalion, with squadrons and individual batteries, and then use "stand" elimination. Fortunately, you don't really have to choose one or the other.

There was a rule in Legacy of Glory, tongue in cheek, that if you got Napoleon killed you had to send me a $100 USD check and your miniature of Napoleon. I had a good laugh when the check from Clay arrived along with his Napoleon HQ stand diorama. I can't believe he actually sent it. I saved the check to be framed, and still use the Napoleon diorama in my games.

Never got another check from anyone, so maybe the rule had the effect we intended.
