Ok, I sort of Understand why most of the euro conutries have their own board..makes it easy to talk about local events in your own language.
Not sure why there is a British board..The UK is the overwheming "Big Dog" in this hunt, it makes sense for the others but UK? This IS their board. Is the US such a small gaming community that it does not need US specifc topics? Further, would it not make sense that the TV boards be country specific? UK shows are not usually shown on CBS! I think the difference is the sheer size of the country. UK gamers can discuss a store or show that is within reasonable travel distance for most gamers in the UK. French, German, Swedish gamers and so on can do the same as well as addressing issues dealing with translations and other language specific topics. Here in the US its just not reasonable for a person in California to particularly know or care what a shop in Allentown PA has in stock or what goes on at Cold Wars. In short, US gamers can't develop the same community that European gamers have due to reasons of geography. Having said all that, the editor has seldom turned down new requests for specific boards, so you may get what you're after. |

As an afterthought don't forget about PBS and BBC America, which do bring many of those British program(e)s to the US. |

I think as Bill is American he sees the U.S. as the 'default', so everyone else gets their own little quarter of the city, as it were. That's fine with me. Us virtual immigrants need our own boards so we can sit about and get all nostalgic about the 'old country'. Anyway, why not pop down to the British Wargaming board for some luvverly pie and mash, jellied eels, tripe and onions, warm beer and other disgusting traditional British fare. Only 300 yards from this theatre. |

Oi! I like warm beer and a nice steak-and-kidney pie, and I was born and bred in the USA! |

I've put these suggestions into poll form... |

The option 'don't care' is missing. I know it's not terribly informative, but I always try to answer poll questions for the sake of completeness. |

I understand the comments about boards for other languages (spelling nazi be damned Im slightly inebriated at the moment) but I do not want to see regional boards for the USA. I like to travel and when I travel I visit places of interest based on comments on TMP. Leave the US of A alone. Al |
