Hope you guys can help me. Just bought some WW1 ships from ebay and very impressed with the look of the castings. Got a British and German starter fleet but the seller couldn't tell me who made them.
They are all metal castings with the name of the hip etched into the base. Next to this is a stylised MM sign.
KMS Derflinger is 90mm stern to bow and Baden in 75mm.
If anyone can help identify the scale or even better the manufacturer then I'd be eternally grateful
(NB not GHQ as already e-mailed Magister Millitum who deny all knowledge)
many thanks

90mm for Derflinger would be 1/2400 and they would most likely be Superior or Panzerschliffe (sp)

Doesn't Panzerschliffe use resin for their ships?

My understanding is they have a few metal also. Could be wrong though.

Panzerschiffe are all resin AFAIK.

Viking Forge maybe?

If you posted some pics, I am sure we could tell you promptly.

I remember an old mini-ships line or something like that. 1/2400, mostly WW1 capital ships, turrets cast separately. As I recall, the most distinctive element were the hulls which tended to be very low freeboard as if modelled deep in the water heavily loaded.

I would post some picture but not sure how to do that. If anyone can help with that then again I'd be grateful

I remember an old 1/2400th scale line called Der Kriegsspiel,or something like that.

I only had 2 or 3 of the minis one being the British Battlecruiser Tiger which was'nt that bad.

Go to photobucket.com. Create a free account there. Upload your pics. Underneath each pic will appear a URL for posting it. Cut and paste it to here. Its easy, and a useful skill to have.

Have you considered My Little Ship Company ?

1/2400 WW1 fleets for British and German. Metal cast in one piece so no seperate turrets etc…

Not up to GHQ quality but similar to Panzerschliffe.

Look down the list of manufacturers on the left of the page.

No problem :)

They paint up well and are cheap. After winning a fleet in a raffle I've now added to the fleet and got some rules (Victory at Sea: Age of Dreadnoughts). My opponent and I are now having great fun with a whole new period for us.
