I know Hobby Lobby carries the BMC bagged sets, but does anyone know if they carry the big boxed sets?

I had my first "real" wargame last night with my 4yo, and want to expand "his" collection (especially with a 40% off coupon)!

Thanks in advance!

Last time I was in my local HL about a month ago the answer was "no". Check their website. MAybe they can order them for you.

My local used to but dropped them in favor of the bag sets. I'm not really sure they still make the sets.

I've never even SEEN the big boxed sets pictured. Seen loads of the little bagged ones, though.

Last night the one in Denton, TX had a box of Armies in Plastic WWI doughboys (54mm). With the 40% coupon, those AIP figures would be a good deal. I already have most of the ones I need.

Ooh… I've never seen AIP there.

Alas, the one I went to over the weekend didn't have any of the boxed sets, but I got lucky nonetheless. I found a local hobby shop that not only carried the full BMC lines, but the boxed sets were 40% off! No coupon needed!

The BMC Sets used to be sold at Toy R Us. About the best place to find them now is to do an ebay Search, and check every Search Notification email that comes your way. I've found about 20 BMC Sets in the last year on ebay, and I paid no more than $35.00 USD for any of them. I've even lucked on a couple of the D-Day and Iwo Jima BMC Sets for that price range that are usually about impossible to find even on ebay for less than $100. USD That Search method has also helped me to find a couple of the Marx Battleground Sets for under $50.00. One of which looked like it had barely been played with.

I've seen the small bagged sets and I've seen some larger bags with what looked like at least some of the contents of the boxed sets.

Flintloque,
Check with Michigan Toy Soldier, they had some BMC boxed sets the last time I was in there. Also, look for any Toy Soldier shows in your area. I have picked up BMC boxed sets for around $20. USD I see you are in Illinois. The OTSN (Old Toy Soldier Newsletter) show is weekend after next in Chicago. It is the largest Tioy Soldier show in North America. The show proper is on Sunday, but folks begin room trading on the prior thursday. It is amazing and loads of toiy Soldiers can be had. You and your son will love.
