It looks like your research has been well repaid. The figures are great and versatile too.

Any uses for the Saxons as Austrians of the SYW? I don't have a lot of uniform info yet.

Great work and great figures. Are the figures available yet?

they are to me.. if you ask nic nicely though I think he is away at the moment..as for Austrians..well dragoons perhaps, cuirassiers are in vests so no go there.. infantry a bit Saxon ish so nor ..gunners no no..but they make better than usual Saxons..The Hussars are quite versatile and you could use them for most things except Austrians as nic didn't do an Austrian style trumpeter though I did suggest one..

Wonder if an Austrian trumpeter from another range would be compatable? Though getting a single trumpeter may be a problem with some ranges.

Well since I'm putting together an Austrian army at the moment so the cavalry apart from the Hussars can be used with them. Nostitz's Saxon Brigade containing the Prinz Karl, Prinz Albrecht and Graf Brühl regiments with the Saxon Karabiniersgarde in Kobel's brogade. If I want to use the Saxon infantry though I will also need a French force.

are you doing Bruhl in their silly hats or correctly in tricorns? you could do the hussaes as austrians without trumpeters..

skaran16 Jul 2009 10:27 p.m. PST

My first Saxon foot unit is a "normal" musketeer one in Tricorns. I also have the figures for a Chevauleger/Dragoon and Cuirsassier unit. I'm thinking of doing the Cehvauleger as Prinz Karl, while the Cuirassiers may end up as Karabiniergarde. I will eventurally do the Bruhl Chevauleger as part of the Saxon brigade and havn't decided on the silly hats or not. They will certainly look different.

I like the silly hats.
