Hi Guys,

I've just been reading "Six Days of War" by Michael B. Oren, and recently read Simon Dunstan's "The Yom Kippur War". This, and the recent release by Oddzial Osmy / PicoArmor of their Israeli range (Arabs armies are covered by the existing Soviet range and some US for Jordanians), has started me on the search for some Scenarios for these conflicts.

Does anyone know of any good sources for Arab-Israeli wars scenarios? Any wargaming scenario books, links, reference books, websites etc would be welcome. I can probably start trawling reference books myself, but I thought someone is bound to have done the hard work for me already? :)

cheers,

bish

The avalon hill game Arab Israeli Wars contains scemario's that are easily converted to miniature use.
You might be able to get it on ebay.

Strangely, I've come across very few published AiW wargames scenarios (outside boardgames). The two most common grand tactical ones are El Arish from 67 and Chinese Farm from 73, plus the SOTCW Journal recently had a series of skirmish scenarios from teh Independance war.

Depending what level of game you are interested in, it is probably easier to write your own.

Thanks guys, I'll follow up on those suggestions. I'm mainly looking at the higher tactical level of games, with several battalions / regiments / brigades per side. Even up to Divisional level is ok for me (I have LOTS of 3mm Soviet minis I can use for Arab armies!).

Many thanks to those who offered suggestions.

cheers,

bish

Have ordered "From Golan to Sinai" from Clash of Arms.I also had a look on ebay at some of those board games. All are available and they look promising, but it's really a waste of money that I can better use for miniatures to pay out for counters, mapboards, and rules I don't want. All I need is the scenarios. Ah well, c'est la guerre…

cheers,

bish

Bish,

The old Avalon Hill tactical boardgame IDF had scenarios for both 67+73 wars in it--email me off list as I believe I have an extra one for you for price of postage if interested (but be aware it is at platoon/company-level.)

Does anyone have the scenarios they want to sell? Or even a copy or pdf of the scenarios? The game is expensive on eBay. I'd reather spend the money on the miniatures than for a game I won't use. Thanks,

Mark

Bishnak:
A bit wide-eyed and religious but also a good starting list of battles.

Or an excellent book from the late 1970's:

Cheers and good gaming.
