What colour for the tunics? Specifically Second Anglo Afghan War. What is your source?

Plynkes11 Jul 2009 3:01 a.m. PST

Blue, and they also wore a brass helmet with a red horsehair plume.

Source: Osprey.

The Perrys also have a series of articles in and around August 1995 Wargames Illustrated showing them. Coincidentally, timed with their old Wargames Foundry NW Frontier figures.

An alternate headgear was an ugly pillbox cap or kepi.

Blue with red trim, imitating European practice.

Yes, it was similar to the RA uniform-blue coat & trousers, red collar, cuffs & trim with yellow trefoils on the cuffs. As mentioned by Plynkes a brass helmet with red plume was worn or as mentioned by John a black conductor's cap with red tassel.
