Bah! Why arn't they available on their web site!!!! |
| Andoreth | 10 Jul 2009 7:19 a.m. PST |
This will teach me to read which board an item is posted on! When I saw the title I assumed it was artillery for the Eureka French in Indo-China, and had visions of impending poverty. I'm safe now though. |

Oh, wow. These are very nice. The soldiers of the time might have hated it, but I like this uniform! |
| Brownbear | 10 Jul 2009 9:05 a.m. PST |
Wow, the revolution range started to look like a "real" range. If cavalry is coming out I will going to buy. I promised myself that I would wait until at least cavalry and artillery was out; but seeing these it becomes more difficult |
| von Winterfeldt | 10 Jul 2009 10:34 a.m. PST |
They look very nice, also very good poses, the only draw back, the over long gaiters which end up mid thigh, they should end up just above the knee cap. |

"They look very nice, also very good poses, the only draw back, the over long gaiters which end up mid thigh, they should end up just above the knee cap." actually im not sure thats true. Not from the plates ive seen anyway

Here a photo form a Hoffmann print of 1791, showing regiment Nassau, a so called German regiment in the famous bleu celeste foncé – a dark "light" blue – quite dark in 1791. the height of the gaiters is well depicted. picture |

I am really interested in plates which were created at the time of the French Revolution Here another one, from Hauk And Baaker, showing a French infantryman at the invasion of Holland in 92 / 93, his long gaiters sit quite low. picture |

To go on a bit , the same is true for the Austrians and Prussians as well, here an Austrian fusilier of about 1770 picture |

our new Austrian infantry & grenadiers and our new French infantry in Casque (tarleton like) helmets!!!! Oh dear. That's not in the Historicon budget. This could get messy. |

"Wow, the revolution range started to look like a "real" range." Actually, I have had a long chat with Nic on this subject and the French revolutionary range has always been intended to be the 'signature' range for Eureka, so there's not much doubt there's sufficient commitment. The principal sculptor is a pretty busy chap, that's the only constraint. The new French and Austrian figures are sensational and thoroughly in keeping with the high standards produced to date. Whilst this period isn't a particular interest of mine, I've succumbed and bought some. At least the Austrians will provide yet another set of opponents for Ottoman Turks. Now to make some Spanish Reiter field defences

Trailape – how many different four-man gun crews could you put together from the available figures? |
| GJM FIGURINES | 10 Jul 2009 2:06 p.m. PST |
they look totally jaw-dropping..and are on my list regards Ged gjm.figurines.co.uk/ |

Now these could prove a bit tempting! A raggedy few Frenchies in bicornes? Do the faces have good detail? hussarbob1746.webs.com |

"Trailape – how many different four-man gun crews could you put together from the available figures"? Hi Gallowglass I suspect about 4 or 5 (depending on wether you want 3 or 4 figure detachments). Cheers |

Oh. My. God! Those are absolutely awesome, breath taking and what have you. Those French in casquets are really something, as are the artillery. |
Der Alte Fritz | 10 Jul 2009 11:28 p.m. PST |
Does anyone have pictures of the Austrians? |
| Brownbear | 11 Jul 2009 1:32 a.m. PST |
some were on the same blog link |
| Jack Dempsey | 11 Jul 2009 1:45 a.m. PST |
No that I've been made aware that the gaiters are too long, how could I possibly consider these inferior figures?? Seriously though, these are really terrific looking figures and by far the best looking FRW range that's been produced to date. I'll definitely be looking to pair these with the pending Perry plastic hussars with Mirliton. Although I thought their moustaches a little long!! |
| Gallowglass | 11 Jul 2009 2:00 a.m. PST |
Trailape – thanks for the info. Does anyone have pictures of the Austrians? Do the clicky thing. Bit good. link |
| Theword | 11 Jul 2009 5:46 a.m. PST |
I don't even have an army of that period in that scale but I'm going to buy some. TW. |

Those pics in the steve dean forum are mine, and i can say the range will be a great addition to any collection. The figures are great scuplts which makes them easy to paint and as usual the production by eureka provides them very flash free and well defined. Great models. |
| French Wargame Holidays | 12 Jul 2009 2:15 a.m. PST |
great job on those Austrians Bob! I am sorry I didn't budget for a revoulutionary Austrian army now! and those guns are excellent pieces! |
| foot soldier | 12 Jul 2009 8:38 p.m. PST |
Gentlemen, If you would like to see the artillery painted just drop me an email. I just got the pictures today and it will appear on a TMP News item later this week!! I expect to receive the pictures of the painted Austrians Monday or Tuesday. Remember you can see all of the new figures at Historicon this week!! If you are interested in this range we have a email list that will keep you updated on this range. The email list is just for our Wars of the French Revolution range. cheers, rob eureka miniatures usa eurekaminusa.com |

I would suspect October long weekend at Moab or Cancon in Jan perhaps |
| trailape | 13 Jul 2009 3:25 a.m. PST |
Hi "I would suspect October long weekend at Moab or Cancon in Jan perhaps" I think they will be released before then. Just a hunch. |
| essayons7 | 13 Jul 2009 6:29 a.m. PST |
I have a few photos of the painted grenzers on my blog: link Not the best photos, sadly. I can vouch for these miniatures – I'm currently painting the french grenadiers in "regulation" dress, and they are a pure pleasure. Can't wait until Saturday and my appointment with the Austrians – my wallet is very afraid

| sma1941 | 17 Jul 2009 11:34 p.m. PST |
I saw these in the "flesh" today at Historicon and ended up buying a couple French battalions and the arty pack. I can't stress enough the cool factor of these figures. I look forward to future releases with high anticipation. |

I looked Nik in the eyes even with the crazy glasses. I'm ordering Austrians soon. |
Der Alte Fritz | 17 Sep 2009 9:04 a.m. PST |
Me too, although I think I will wait until the cavalry is added to the range. I'm already painting some French in bicorns. |
| essayons7 | 18 Sep 2009 8:10 a.m. PST |
BTW, DID they have a deal for me! Thanks to my lovely wife, I was able to take advantage of it (she spotted me the dough!). A poorer, but very happy, GregS |
