I've done a little conversion with some Chronopia miniatures and painted them up. How do they look?

Hmm, it's a bit hard to tell with those tiny photos…?

You have to go to the photo bucket account to see them. I don't know how to put a small one on the blog and link to a large one

Ah, much better, thanks.

Seems weird that you'd have to *upload* two different images… doesn't Photobucket automatically provide differently-sized versions of each image?

I know that Flickr, for instance, allows you to upload images in any size you like (so you can upload very large, detailed images), but then provides "Small", "Medium", and "Large" versions of the same file – so you can show off a smaller version of the image on a website, without the large and small images having to be seperately uploaded as two different files.

That would seem to be a recommendation for the one free service over the other (I'd always thought of them as fairly interchangeable, until now).

Anyway, back to your models. I'm not familiar enough with the range to know what converting you've done, but I like the idea of replacing the chariot horses.

At the moment the chariot itself looks good – lighter green and plenty of gold for contrast – but the caparisons are just too dark (compared to the chariot) and without enough contrast (the gold on their heads is too little, too far away from the mass of green). Perhaps some freehand work would help? Would some sort of celtic knot design, in gold or a warm yellow or brown, perhaps be appropriate?

I like the foot figures, they're nicely done.

Good luck in the painting contest!

Thanks for the tips, I may add a tre-foil to the outer caparison's. I plan on getting some tribal tattoos for the figs at a later date. The conversion for the chariot included filling in the base platform and using a different figure for the rider. The conversion for the foot troops was I added antlers to the middle guy with spear.
