Looks fun Robin. Nice, colourful games. Must be enjoyable to paint and play.

These games were heaps of fun.. a third battle report yet to come.. the climactic Lost Tribes counter-attack…

I really enjoy HotT..short games, small armies that are easy to produce, delightful layers of complexity that you discover as you play, and it morphs into larger games if you want too. One of the keys IMO is the army composition system.. based on an army points approach. Allows the imagination to roam yet makes sure there's always balance.

Nice job. Very cool. Great idea using the Schleich raptor as a (15mm?) T-Rex. What rules do you use?

rsutton07 Jul 2009 8:18 p.m. PST

Ta!… 20mm figures for the Lost Worlds, although Andy's European Union VSF are 28mm….

We are using HotT (Hordes of the Things)….

Game 3 posted.. what will happen next? Will Carruthers be found? Will he and his valiant force survive?

Keep watching…

I gotta say, I'm rooting for the Lost World people.

The :LW folk certainly did the business in this game, but wait…. what's this ? Sir Watherston has re-emerged? keep watching…

I like the airship design. Not sure about the lions and savages maintaining tight formation lines, though. Seems out of place.

HotT is from the DBX family of games.. the basing provides a conceptual basis for bodies of troops rather than a literal representation; it's definitely not a skirmish game.

The ariel gunboat and landship are both great scratch builds.

I'm curious as to what the red and white strippy antenna on the landship is?

Love that report!

And I'm intrigued by how a different painting scheme can make the exact same Brigade Aliens look like completely different figures to mine:

Yours look so reptilian!
