Sheer class. Crete 1941 is one of my personal faves and one of only two battlegrounds (with Verdun) that I've managed to visit.
Your terrain captures the essence of Crete, very well researched clearly.
I walked around Hill A and B at Rethymnon to Stavromenos in searing heat to see the olive oil factory which turned out to be a small 2 storey house with an olive press in the yard!
You mention dicing for orders, not usual for Rapid Fire so I presume a house rule? How did that work? Also, how did you simulate the separate drop canisters?

Thanks guys,it was a huge effort and takes a year to set up,a lot of great model figures and planes went on those tables.

The dice throws were to change brigade orders as creforce wanted to move onto the Maleme tables from the Hania & Suda Bay area but Major General Bernard Freyberg, overall Commonwealth Commander was kiled in a pre game bombardment. It just made the dice to do any major tactical change higher.
I was part of Axis forces so i didnt get overly involved in this bit.

All canisters and figures were dropped as printed markers and as soon as an infantry marker reached a canister marker a reall set of figures were put on the table to show they wee now fully armed.
