I have a couple of budding gamers that will probably be into this sort of thing and was wondering if the dinosaurs you can get at Toys'R'Us and Michael's (not the little plastic ones, but the bigger rubbery/plasticy ones) are good to use for gaming or if it would be better to spend the money on cast metal dinos?

Thanks!

Budding gamers? Go with the prepainted plastic ones. Start them out easy.

Safari Ltd. brand dinos are the best. a buck or two more than other brands but look more realistic and already painted. We use them in our Dino hunting games.

John and Conquest Miniatures make great suggestions, and they're right. I've seen the Schleich dinosaurs at Toys R Us, so you might want to check out your local store. I've also seen them at SuperTarget. Might want to toss in a few old fashioned plastic army men as hunters or prey.

They'll have fun! thumbs up

I like the Schleich dinosaurs too. Good poses and well painted, a little more expensive than Dollar Store Dinos but worth it in the long run.

PAPO has some great predator dinos with working jaw. T-Rex, Allosaurus, Spineosaurus and a raptor. They cost a bit more, though.

The "Jurasic Park" ones are good if you can find them

Another vote for Safari Ltd.

Yeah, prepainted dino's are a good way to go. However, for smaller raptors and compy's you'll need to buy em in metal. HLBS used to carry them. I think Copplestone may now carry them.

Thanks,

John
