Hi all,

I've started a gallery to showcase HYW units for Impetus as I my project grows.

I'll throw a post here everytime a new unit is added, just for those who enjoy such things.

One of my favorite periods. You have done a superb job. Lets see some knights.

00 JET 0004 Jul 2009 5:05 a.m. PST

Thanks for the replies gents. As for the knights, they may be a while away yet. I've painted one test model that can be seen here: link

The thing is, my goal is to paint two forces over a period of time, perhaps around 300 points each initially. If someone else comes along and shows an interest, I may stick to one force. However, in the meantime, I'm looking at the collection of models I have, and am trying to divide them into two opposing forces.

One possiblity is to paint a small French army to oppose my English. I have some knights and crossbowmen already, so I don't think I'd need to purchase much else.

The other option is to paint a small medieval Irish force as an opponent. I'm still on the fence for now, but in the meantime, I shall continue painting English infantry.

I always like to paint one army at a time instead of "jumping back and forth". It helps me to concentrate and focus much better.

For those who are following along, I've finished my third unit of Longbowmen – link

Enjoy,

Jet,
Your HYW figs are great. I also really enjoyed following along as you "speed painted" your 6mm romans. I find your painting style to be very nice. Keep up the great work.

My first unit of Breton Skirmishers is up now. link

Very nice, Jet.
Two questions:
1 – How do they compare to Corvus Belli miniatures? Size- and bulkwise?
2 – What pack does the dog come with? :)

00 JET 0014 Aug 2009 4:22 a.m. PST

Sorry for not responding sooner.

1. The corvus belli are a little larger. I find it doesn't really matter, especially when the models are on different bases. However, the CB horses are much larger than the FC horses. Personally, I wouldn't be able to use them in the same army.

2. The dog comes in this peasant pack: link

Finally, I've added my first unit of Mounted Men-At-Arms in the usual place: link

Better late than never ;)

Thanks for the peasant link – I've totally missed "Baggage" line, now I see it will come very handy!

Also, I can see you do the same trick as I do with heavy cavalry – mixing knights with hobilars :D Good job. Still, your painting is much better than mine…

Lord Armchair14 Aug 2009 2:47 p.m. PST

Great painting and basing!

Impetus is a great system too…Im basing my next project for it.

McLovin23 Sep 2009 7:39 a.m. PST

Excellent paint job. I'm using the Corvus Belli figures for my WOTR project. That's the best thing about the seperate shields for the dismounted knight!

Still not properly thought of which rules system to use any thoughts? Had thought about buying Peter pigs "Bloody barons" if anyone has any comments?

Regards

Chris

Since the last update here there have been some additions:

Artillery & Crew: link
More Javelinmen: link
Disounted Men-At-Arms #3: link

At this stage, it may just be easier to look at the entire gallery thread to avoid all of that clicking: link

And the final batch have been added:
