Does the Mahdist War Source book form TVAG have illustrations of the Mahdi's. and Uthman Diqqna's flags in it? Or is there any other reference available?

I know TVAG does flag sheets but exchange rate is rubbish against the £ and I can't afford them so I want to paint some myself. Whilst I'm happy to do some generic ones (for which I have reference) I have those two figures mentioned and I'd like to get the flags right for them if possible.

If spending I'd rather have the MWSB book for my £ than the flags themselves as I need so few.

The MWSB does have several articles on Mahdist flags so you would be able to paint flags from the illustrations.

Warflag is a good start:

My Fuzzies are happy with their hand painted standards.

Thanks all, what I'm really after is references to those two specific ones. I've been given a load of generic flags that I can reproduce with my own brush work but I understand the Mahdi had a green flag of a unique design that I wonder if appears as an illustration somewhere. If not I think I'm reluctantly going to shell out £24.00 GBP for half a dozen flags, one day.

The Mahdi's personal green flag appears on page 49 of the 1st book from TVAG.

Dear Timmo,

Obviously, I'd love to see you buy your own copy of the MWSB, but if you truly only want a pair of Mahdist Flags, contact me at TVAG@worldnet.att.net and perhaps I can make you a deal.

After all, unless your fine painting of the proper Arabic script is up to the task (as well it may be!), life will be easier if you only need the proper flags to cut out and mount on spears.

Just let me know the scale your looking for and perhaps we can make a deal.
