I have been working as a part time sculptor for two years now, examples of my work in 1/48 scale can be found here: link or at my blog ghpaintingminis.blogspot.com All of them were sculpted with Pro Create and since they were to be produced in resin I luck the experience needed to sculpt something that will be produced in metal for instance the first question is about armatures. I make my own with 0,60mm (22 gauge I believe) silver coated bronze wire, for a 30mm human figure is this sufficient to withstand the vulcanization or do I have to use something else. Hi George; I'm not a mold maker, but I've been sculpting for a while and have leanred a lot over the years. Your armatures should have no problems being vulcanized in black organic rubber molds. If you have concerns about your master models withstanding vulcanization, you can use the newer low-temperature silicone molds. The silicone molds are more expensive, but they have several advantages: less shrinkage and compression, better molding of figures with complex undercuts or orientation, and you can use styrene plastic in your models without any fears of melting (styrene will melt in organic rubber molds.) We use silicone for both our master molds and production molds and we constantly get compliments on the high quality of our castings. Also--really nice sculpts! High quality stuff!
