Most of my books depict only the port side profiles of German aircraft colors and markings. Were German fighter squadron insignia typically displayed on both sides of the fuselage?

All of the diecast planes I have show insignia both sides and plastic kits I've got have two sets of decals, so it would seem so.

Period photos and illustrations seem to indicate that they were on both sides. Might not be true for all units, but at least for some.

Cool, that's good enough for me. I'm adding some markings to some 1/144 pre-paints. I'll put 'em on both sides.

Thanks!
