As I'll be somewhat mired in upstate SC for a week or so can anyone pass along what there is and where to go that would be of interest to a gamer (besides head north, I used to live there so I already know that)?

;-D

North?

If you're near Interstate 85, there's always the Camden and King's Mountain battlefields.

If you're anywhere near Charlotte I'd be glad to host you for a game of some sort.

Isn't the <airquote>Appalachian Trail</airquote> nearby? You might meet the Governor…

Boderlands is a hobby store in Greenville. If you are looking for a game, post on the SCHGS (South Carolina Historical Games Society) Yahoo group; many of the members are in the upstate. The Cowpens and King's Mountain battlefields are nearby. Camden is in the middle of the state, east of Columbia off I-20.

CLDecker, if you're in/near Columbia, check out the
SC history museums, especially the Confederate Relic
Room, which has far more than just ACW-associated
displays.

Gold Club, Hardeeville, knock twice, ask for Red, say John sent you.

Woo-Hoo!!!

I'll be in and around Spartanburg for about a week starting around Tuesday. I used to live there once upon a time way back when. Definitely need to roll on Greenville as they have some nice honky-tonk joints around there. ;-D as well as Borderlands. Charlotte might be a possible too after the hub-bub of Sparkle City
