Like other mad scientist I have an mad experiment that crosses the line no man or beast was ment to cross. If I get my AWI or Napoleonic 6mm figs tomorrow(or early saturday) I will try two things. 1.(and this one is REALY out there and crazy) I will paint 250 figures during saturday, either Napoleonic or AWI depending on which if eny I get on friday or saturday This is based on a speed of 25 figs an hour for up to 10 hours. If I get the figs tomorrow I can start painting at 10 in the moring on saturday. If I get them on saturday I have to wait unitl 12(when the post comes) and then 30 minutes for the primer to dry. Which means I'll probebly not get to 250 during the day. 2. Which Leads me to the next part, if I get them on saturday I'll not be able to paint 250 that day. therfor I put that by the end of sunday(if I get the figs noon saturday. I'll have 400 figs painted. As you can see this is far out stuff that might lead to the distuction of the universe. So if I get the figs on friday I think I got a 70/30 chance of reaching 250 by the end of saturday, and if I get them on saturday I got probebly a 80/20 chance of getting to 400. This is just a crazy experiment not ment to be retried even if I succeed. As it would take the fun out of painting. I just want to see if I can do it. |

If you get a spray can I should think you could do 1,000 in an hour. Personally I'd try to do them as well as I can rather than as fast as I can. Good luck. |

The 25 an hours is based on how long I used on these apartmentofwar.blogspot.com I paint them the same way I paint my 15mm, not thats not very good for 15mm but quite ok for 6mm |

As long as you don't exhaust your unpainted lead, you will be fine. |

Now the question is: do you use up some of the paint energy to paint something else today
or are you going to physically and mentally prepare for the effort required tomorrow! If I was going to be painting for 10 hours I'd be out having a walk – getting some fresh air, stretching my back and maybe do some prep work, check I've got enough glue, thin my paints etc etc

Well since I didn't get them today, I will paint some 7yw figs to get more 6mm practice, and because those I paint today will go thowards the end goal of 400 by end of sunday. So if I paint 40-60 figs today, which I can easly at a slow pace. then I have "only" 340-360 to paint saturday and sunday. And thats IF I even get my figs tomorrow, the postal service suck, so it's very possible I don't get any figs before long into next week. But in theory I should get atleast one of my orders by tomorrow, based on how long it usuualy takes for figs to get from england to Oslo |

I've just finished a 40 man unit of Hanoverian Musketeers Slightly more complicated then the british as it had more variations of color. Geen and tan yellow alongside the red and white. Not as happy with these as I was with the first ones, but then I do find 7yw uniforms hard to paint. picture Time from start untill the figs were glued on the bases 1 Hour 46 Minutes 24 Seconds or less then 3 minutes pr. fig. |

Im sure they'll look really good when you've finished with the basing! |

Finished 20 English 7yw dragoons, got quite a bit of detail on them. Total time 1 hours 27 minutes. So in just over 3 hours I got 60 figs done, 20 of which were cav |

Ok, not 250 figs, but not to far of, 160 figs painted today. 100 painted the last two days. 270 figs aint bad for 3 days work, and I still got all sunday to paint a measely 48 Cavalry. So by the end I'll have 9 finished units for my 7yw project I didn't even want to start for a total of 304 figs. 9 units is also 2 more units then I ever did in 6th monthns of the same battle only in 15mm, And twince the number of figs. Could I have gotten 250(or 240 figs based on the baseing) done in a day, sure, I did sit on the net alot, had I done nothing but paint, sure I could have done 2 more units. Anyway I'm off to eat dinner at 11 in the eveing |
| Gunfreak | 05 Jul 2009 11:50 a.m. PST |
Well I did 304 figs in 4 days. |
