Gabba gabba we accept you, one of us now …

6mm is the one true scale. You know it makes sense. :-)

I'm slowly shifting back to micro/6mm from 28mm – I am finding that the larger minis just take too long for me to paint well, plus I like the mass effect of 6mm units.

Wargamer4321002 Jul 2009 10:50 a.m. PST

The mass effect of several thousand 6mm troops makes for a grand spectacle. :-)

Gunfreak02 Jul 2009 11:05 a.m. PST

Yes, as I said when the 3800 Napoleonics are done it will be quite a spectale.

Thats 171 Battalions, 25 Cavalry Regiments and 46 batteries

It's funny. I have recently jumped into 54mm. However, i still love my 6mm stuff. Strange isn't it.

:-D

Thanks,

John

That's not a spectacle, that's a START :-)

Yes, 6mm is the one dependable scale you can always rely on when other let you down. Been doing 6mm Naps and WW2 since the 1970s. I don't do 6mm Naps with individually based figures any more though!

WarDepotDavid04 Jul 2009 2:44 a.m. PST

6mm! Man, bring it on!

The scale lets one get so tactical and can really get the mass feel for a lot of the periods we game. And more affordable too.

To be honest, I actually scoffed at 6mm when it was first recommended to me.
I thought that the figures looked way too tiny to be recognizable as anything resembling miniatures. I thought that they wouldn't be any better than simply using cardboard markers or something.

Then I was introduced to excellent makers such as Baccus, and to illuminating blogs such as folk.uio.no/arnsteio/DBXin6mm

Now, I'm a convert.

Although I play Warhammer 40K in 28mm, and FoW in 15mm, I've started collecting an Ancients army in 6mm.

Baccus have the advantage of being 8mm. Nice figures, but not 6mm

ebsc8211 Oct 2009 12:16 p.m. PST

eh wrong about that Baccus are about 8mm they are 6mm, you will find that H&R are about 5mm, Adler about 7.mm. In fact if memory serves Peter has a picture of comparisons on his baccus web site.

I love 6mm! Great Job
