Just posted some pics of the 1/35 scale MaK/SF3D SAFS battlesuit that I converted a bit and repainted. Check it out! link |

Really nice work! I have a load of SF3D MaK battlesuits and think they are just lovely. I have converted a number of mine with open cockpits to hold 28mm drivers, but I haven't gotten around to other physical modifications or repainting yet. Yours gives me food for thought. Cheers,; Jason |

nice work. I too have many of these gems. I have a few of the SAF style you showed and many Melusine as well as a few prowlers (courtesy of my frined Hrothgar the Smelly). |

Long before Mongoose came out with their Starship Troopers game I bought a bunch of the MaK with the idea of using them as mobile infantry in the Starship Troopers universe. I relegated them to the storage pile to sell someday because the poses were so static and they were a bit larger than I felt could be used with 28mm figures. I have never quite been able to bring myself to sell them because they are such nice figures. Stinger Six, You have done a nice job of resolving the static pose complaint. I may have to revisit the scale compatibility issue. In my mind these figs are still the closest thing to Heinlein's MI of any figure out there. Al |

Very nice! I too have some, in 1/20 and 1/76! I plan on sculpting up a bunch more of the 1/76 models for some 20mm-ish skirmish stuff. Gotta make some Sandstalkers too

Thanks everyone! Now I'm starting to think about doing up the other MaK figures I have. @Allen57 – Yeah, I've never seen any minis by any other manufacturer that captured my image of the Starship Troopers battle armor better than the MaK stuff. |

I have a few models, and am drooling over the new Hasegawa Falke (wa-ay too expensive for me at over $100!). I know Eureka had a few not-AFS', but I really wish someone would put these into production in 25mm

OK, Im convinced. Time to dig out the AFS and get going. Bugs Mr. Rico, Bugs. Never did figure out what Heinlein's bugs look like. The Mongoose one's didnt use weapons. Thanks for the inspiration Hrothgar and Stinger Six. |

I looked at the wording of my previous comment and just want to make it clear that I am not trying to claim any credit for those last four links. Mine, unfortunately, are seen in the previous links that only show the prepaints. Whoever did the work on the MaKs in those last four links-as well as Stinger Six in this thread-really have some talent. Allen57, glad to hear you have seen the light! these models look great, whatever you do with them. I couldn't think of anything better to use for Mr. Heinlein's original concept. Good luck! |
