Hmmm, not sure about the "Heroic-sized" bit, but I think you are right. A new company – Immortal, maybe?

It was Immortal miniatures, altfritz is correct.

It is Immortal Miniatures. They make a reference on their website to the plastics being under development, but there is little other info I could find.

There is also an entry for Greek hoplites in the Wargames Factory League:

Conte does plastic Spartans.

Aren't the Contes 54mm? A tad too heroic!

I think that the Aventine North Etruscan league (metal) minis would make great substitutes for the Alcatani, at less than half the price of GW. I'd select the round shield option, and give them pikes.

I'm not sure that if you're actually from the period, dressed as you normally would be for the period, that you're in "period garb". That just seems wrong somehow…

Have you tried picking up bits for the Alacatani from ebay? Horde O'Bits (an ebay bitz store) usually has some, and I've seen the metal minis going for VERY reasonable prices at auction.

Just sayin'…….

I can't think that classical Greek Hoplites are going to be any more Renaissance in garb than the Aventine Italians…
