Rumor has it that one of the beautiful Yoder girls will jump out of the HCON 25th anniversary cake right about where the hands almost connect. I cannot verify this rumor but it comes from a hot source. I for one will miss the summer nights at Yoder's. Wow. If they only had Yoder girls in Baltimore. I wonder.

Hey, next thread down says something about Historicon surprises. This could be it.

Cav Girl01 Jul 2009 7:27 a.m. PST

Ok, what is Yoder's? I must miss this place each year. . .

Just to tease you fellows further Hasselfree is running pictures of metal girls in bikinis across the top of the page. I find that disgusting unless the girl is in a metal bikini like at Origins.

Soon you'll see a Yoders booth at Salute.

Wow! Yoder's girls across the pond! That would be sweet.

This is the song they will dance to:

Love those 80's computers. I'm keeping mine as an antique.
But nothing beats dancing to My Sharona; hands down.

Condottiere01 Jul 2009 10:29 a.m. PST

What's a yoder girl?

Cav Girl01 Jul 2009 11:03 a.m. PST

"What's a yoder girl?"

That's what I asked!

sneakgun01 Jul 2009 11:24 a.m. PST

I hear the purple shirts will once again descend on Lancaster…

Sneakgun: Hooter's for the Amish. If she's very daring, you might catch a glimpse of ankle.

Another negative for the BCC, no Amish and no Amish rake-fighting.

Sneakgun, cmsciulli, et al: Yoder's is an Amish market.

There are Yoder's (probably not related) in a lot of
places, Tennessee, Pennsylvania (of course), here in
North Carolina, and probably anywhere you might find
a fairly large number of Amish or Mennonites living.

'Our' Yoder's doesn't have the 'famous' Yoder's girls
working in it, but some rather cute NC college girls
who are daughters of the owner (who is *not* Amish, but
retained the name and the merchandise after he bought
the store from the Yoder family who moved to Tennessee).

'Our' Yoder's carries a lot of items not to be found in
the 'normal' North Carolina grocery.

It is the best place to buy Lancaster County Road Apples in season. Take some home for the family and friends.

Yoder is a very common name in Lancaster County. I went to school with David and Tim Yoder. Of course, their little sister was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title of the thread. Then I realized you are probably talking about their grandkids now.

Yoder's also migrated to Virginia.

There was a Yoder dairy on the Virginia Peninsula that closed about 15 years ago and the one in VA Beach just closed in December.

The peninsula dairy stood right next to Patrick Henry Field (Camp Patrick Henry), which is now Newport News Williamsburg International airport. This is where many American soldiers were kept before embarkation from the Hampton Roads to Europe and Africa. Patton's Operation Torch troops left from here in 1942.

I believe the amish market in Madison county, Virginia, is a Yoder's as well (or was, I haven't been by in a few years).

Yoder's Plain and Fancy is the name of a 'Gentlemen's Club' model that the mad modelling genius that sculpts/designs for Miniature Building Authority converted as a 'one of' from their convenience store model (complete with bonnet clad dancers) that sort of morphed into a running joke. Every Saturday they wear the purple Yoder's shirts in homage to the mythical Amish strip club.

vonLoudon02 Jul 2009 5:52 p.m. PST

Could we stick with the topic? MBA are stripper fans. See proves my point. Yoder's, here I come.

Well here I sit on a very interesting, naughty thread and these guys are worried about the board minutes. You know I try to make the topics interesting and this is the thanks I get. Imagine a temporary supporting member getting no support at all. I am starting to worry about these guys.
