Not sure if anyone is following this game,b ut I have been buying from these these guys since my first Gencon in 2004. It seems they are making a game based off of thier minis. It is been shown at various cons with Origins being the last one.

I am curious if anyone here has gotten a chance to play the game and what you thought of it. I guess the game is diceless using a mechanic based off of a deck of cards. The minis have thier own style to them being one part Deadlands and the other Anime/Steam Punk.

The first part… In which I indirectly show interest.

Inside the boxed sets, there are coupons instructing the lucky purchaser to send a code to an email address. In turn they will receive the prototype cards for their faction. When I get to sending that mail, I'll let you know what I get in return.

The second part… Where I rave about how cool these minis are.

Rasputina and her Ice Golem/Ice Gremlins
Lillith and her Nephilim and Chibi Nephilim
and whotzisface from the 'Steamfitters Union' with his cyber-arachno-centaur, and tiny clockwork spiderlings.

The folks at the booth were extremely cool, and their miniatures have a ton of style. I wasn't certain I "needed" a new game, but the outstanding character in each of the pieces demanded the immediate surrender of my wallet. I was told that the boxed sets were hot off the assembly line (a mere day before the con), and that the game proper would be out shortly.

The Third Part, where I get a little cheese with my whine.

Sadly the ton of style does not include the absolutely smashing bases for the arachno-steambot figures as pictured on the box. The box clearly states "blank bases", but I was thinking "Of course there's a piece in that box, it's part of the mini"… No such luck… Anyone got a spare wind up clock that needs further discombobulation? I do believe that the base decoration is available as a separate purchase from Wyrd, but right now, I'm going to look around for wind up toys with terminal ailments and repurpose them.

I've playtested the game a few times, and I really love it.

Please note that I don't say love easily as I am a bit of a gaming snob.

The mechanics are simple and easy to follow, but still have a lot of depth. I was dubious about the card system, but once I played it, it all made sense. It adds random factors that go beyond a dice roll. We have only played small games so far, but it's been a lot of fun.

I am definetly going to pick up the game…plus I really love the quality of the mini's.
