For an update of what is happening with all of my blogs see the weekly Blog Review at 1813campaign.blogspot.com

The Magdeburg phase of the 1813 campaign is now complete. The Prussians crossed the river Elbe north and south of Magdeburg and defeated the French is three minor battles. Blucher then took his eye off the ball and marched on Magdeburg. He was unprepared for the subsequent French counter attack, which drove him back across the Elbe. He could claim a limited success as he held Magdeburg. Now that this phase of the campaign is complete I have tidied up the blog and added a summary to make it easier to follow the campaign. Full details of the campaign, including background, diary, daily movement and battle reports at 1813northgermany.blogspot.com

The main 1813 Campaign blog has also been updated to include the events of the Magdeburg phase. I have also added a summary to make it easier to find your way around the blog. Full details at 1813campaign.blogspot.com

The coach trip has moved on from Albuera and is on its way to Cuidad Rodrigo. On the way we stop at the roman bridge of Alcantara, which is the subject of this weeks Walking Napoleonic Battlefields. Full details at link

From the archive of old wargames the latest offering is The Battle of Gotha. This French v Russian wargame was part of an earlier 1813 Campaign. Full details at wargamesinspain.blogspot.com
