(from the Rattrap forum):
I was finally able to play the scenario last night with three other people. Two individuals took the United Democracies Space Force men, another two divided up the Amazons.
The UDSF team had problems from the moment they left the ship. Unable to act as a unified force, they advanced on the Amazons without any idea what to do, other than find the black box recorders. Consequently, the civilians they brought along broke off and went looking for the black boxes on their own. One of the UDSF men found the first black box recorder in the first few rounds of the game and spent most of the scenario hiding behind a tree.
The Amazons advanced quickly to their quarry, perhaps a little too slow. They were overjoyed at seeing so many feral men, which would mean a successful hunting trip and plenty of goods to trade later. One of the archers fired off a volley of arrows to keep a UDSF man pined down.
When the two sides engaged, the UDSF fired their stunners and managed to miss every Amazon they were trying to get. Since the two UDSF men had crossed the river before firing, they were quickly over-powered and captured by the Amazons.
This all caused a bit of a problem when the saber tooth tiger made it's appearance. Everyone realized the danger of what was happening and turned their weapons on the big cat. Since the tiger showed up near the combat area, it was in the range for 8 armed Amazons and UDSF men. A stun gun took it down before the tiger could kill or maim anyone and an Amazon manage to poke it full of arrows. Not the most noble way to kill it, but effective just the same.
The UDSF man who stunned the tiger was then captured by an Amazon.
By now the engineer and the scientist had found the remainder black box recorder and fled to the safety of the star ship. The Amazons attempted to block their retreat, but failed to stop the UDSF man from getting his black box into the ship. The civilians got theirs into the ship moments later.
Which left things at a bit of a stalemate. Half of the UDSF team was safely in the star ship, but their pilots had been captured by the Amazons. They could either attempt to rescue their captured team mates or find the Arslan 5000 robot pilot still in the wreckage of the space probe. The Amazons could do no damage to the star ship, but might be able to bring siege engines back with them later.
