I have just updated my blog with some pictures of my (almost) complete and painted 1,000 pointed Warmaster Medieval Samurai army. They are Baccus 6mm models and are based around the Ii clan Red Devils (so called because of their all Red armour). The blog entry is here: wargamestuff.blogspot.com And there are more pictures here: link |

HC, that is IMPRESSIVE! Since researching Samurai armies many years ago, I was immediately drawn to the Ii armies, because of their lacquered red armor, yellow armor cord, and gold embellishments for the officers. About the Daimyo's basing, it looks like you used a penny or similar coin. True? You've done a great job! Thank you for sharing your pics! |

Lovely job! I did the Ii Clan in 15mm many years ago only to have them ruined when I used spray varnish on them which bubbled
:-( I remember painting all the army with red armour as I'm sure I read somewhere that the clan was so wealthy that 'even the lowest ashigaru was equiped with red armour' but I could be wrong as it was a very long time ago (about 20+ years
). Mick |

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I've been paining some 6MM myself and I have always wanted a few Samurai armies to do the battles at Kawanakajima. Your discussion of army formations reminded me of how I have always liked the idea of the battles that were never really fought out. Instead the armies were deployed and one side or the other would break off after staring each other down and concluding one army was deployed better than the other. Bill |

The characters are actually based on 2p coins. They're a pretty good size for Warmaster characters and the three mounted figures fit nicely. |

That picture of the army is simply incredible! Great stuff! I'm very drawn to6mm but have 1000's of 20mm that I'm working on. Thanks again, John |

Great job on those tiny lead men. Your army looks formidable. I appreciate you showing off your Samurai keep, too. I'm gonna have to make a nice looking one. Peolple like you shame me when I've been lazy. Thanks for the inspiration. Don |

The trembling starts at the furlined shoes ad works upward as I gaze upon the firey ranks of Red Devils. |
