Just Finnished some Vendel Border Reivers, excellent to paint, just need to do the rest of the clan and some buildings and start raiding cattle and sheep!

I am a sucker for baggey breaches and those Baldric caps. Nice paint jobs.

They don't look particularly Finnish to me.

Nice work, however, I believe you mean "available from Graven Images, and sculpted by Jim Bowen".

At least some of those do look like the Graven Image figures. Does anyone know how tall the GI ones are compared to the Vendel figures (or GW figures)?

Those are absolutely not Vendel figures. I have (or had) the entire range from both companies.

MWeaver, some (but not all) of the Graven Image figs will work with the Vendel:

The Graven Images Garrison Pike are a tad larger than the very consistent Vendel figs, but I use them together.

All the other Graven Images figures – bowmen, caliver men, the ruffians and the March Warden's men, are visibly larger than the Graven Images pikemen and thus dwarf the Vendel figures – both in height and girth. A Graven Images caliver man stands at least a head higher, and is a considerably beefier figure. They appear as two different scales when side by side. There is even more disparity in horsemen – The Graven Images horsemen are huge by comparison.

well I will be,

always thought they were Vendel minis, that will teach me too buy figs, open the packet, undercaot and add to the lead pile without a second thought until I feel like a change in period.

Where are my manners.

Matt, Vendel or not, they look good. Very good. They are enjoyable figures to paint.

Tried to purchase all the border reivers sets from Vendel but they indicated at checkout that they no longer make them available to my region (USA)… and alternate distributors (other than Graven Images) or other companies that sell "clans" ?

thanks

Great work. I wasnt familiar with those figures.

The reason you may or may not think they are from Graven Images or Vendel is because I believe they were both carved by the same person…

Kinda like GW and Perry…
