Hi guys!

I have a question concerning the French army during the Napoleonic wars. What were the unit(s) raised in the Orléans region during the Napoleonic wars? Or were can I find this kind of info?

Many thanks

Here's one link that may help with the line regiments, but you will have to look at each unit individually:

Bonjour,

I am afraid that you will find this kind of information only by visiting a week or two the SHD facillities in Vincennes. link

Even Digby Smith in his "napoleon's regiments" doesn't give this information. Pigeard's monumental book "l'armée napoléonienne" answers partially to your request:in 1811
having their depot in Orleans (which doesn't mean , raised in the area) 113ème de ligne and 28ème de ligne, 121ème de ligne (Blois), 122ème (Vendôme)

Cordialement

I didn't think this kind of information was so hard to get. Thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for the links too!

Cheers! Et merci!

SHD or Orléans, why are you asking this ?

Units raised in the dept of Loiret,
the National Guard of course
the Loiret Departemental Reserve Company

between the new line regiments raised in 1813 from the National Guard (135e-156e) the 135e received the 9e Cohorte (409 men from the Loiret, 479 from the Eure-et-Loir) but it doesn't mean that it was raised in Orléans
