Hi Guys I am painting Napoelonic period artillery pieces. I believe Austrian Artillery pieces were painted yellow ochre and had black iron fittings. Would anyone have information as to whether other armies had standard colours for their artillery or alternatively could point me to a good source of information in this regard. Many thanks Jim

Try a search. Somebody asks this question at least once a month…

Either that or wait until some showoff wishes to demonstrate their superior knowledge and Googling skillz

Yes, most armies standardised their artillery piece colours in the Napoleonic wars.

That second link is what you need I would think. Don't get too hung up on exact colour matches – the paint pigments were pre-industrial and each batch would have been slightly different, and then there was fading etc etc…..

Osprey Men-at-Arms #96 has a listing of the nationalities and their preferred color schemes.

Dear Jim
There is a list of colours and the recipes in

Dawson, Dawson and Summerfield (2007) Napoleonic Artillery, Crowood Press pg 226-231 [Chapter 9 The Colours of Artillery Pieces]

Being a colour chemist the exact colour of things is a vexing problem. Often a Japan varnish was used which gave a brownish hue. French Artillery Green should be almost kakhi green as it was 100 parts yellow ochre to 1 part lampblack.
