Here's a quizzer – does anyone do 15, 18 or 20mm Spanish _Medieval_ Knights? Spanish Knights appear to have Bevors, Capacettes, Long Spears(NOT Lances)& cloaks or capes over their Plate armour. There's lots who do Generic, a fair few who do Feudal Spanish, a couple who do Renaissance, but absolutely none at all who do Medieval :( The only Medievals I can find are 28mm which are way too big :( Any ideas? |

Can you find the right figure but without cloak? Adding a cloak should be relatively straightforward

I'd be delighted if anyone did the right fig for Medieval Spanish Knights – at least lower than 25mm – *sigh* As it is, no single manufacturer does Medieval Spanish: I have Jinettes, Hermandad Crossbows & Hermandad spearmen, Mudejar Spearmen from Roundway, Pikemen & Arquebusiers from Tin Soldier, CinC & Generals from Minifigs, Almughavar (converted)Swordsmen from Museum, & Sword & Bucklers from Venexia. But I have yet to see any Medieval Spanish Knights at all :( |

Grief, The Spanish wore Mail until the late 14thC, so the issue of Feudal over Medieval is quite important :) Plus the helmets would be different too *s* |

I think XenaWP is looking for 'High Medieval' figures. This is the problem when a period of history lasts for such a long time and encompasses several distinct styles of clothing and kit. A 'knight' from the 10th century looked very different to one from the 15th. |

Based on the references references to bevors and plate armour, I would presume that what is being looked for is "late medieval" period figures. Griefbringer |

Cheers Guys, mucho grateful :) The Essex Knights are just the job 8-) Though still think it's shoddy so few Spanish Medievals out there! |

Shame you don't want the earlier ones. I've just finished about 50 of Alain Touller's 13th century Spanish, each with individual heraldry. Since they are all barded, and the Spanish seem to have used lots of heraldry on the bards that has meant up to 8 copies of each coat of arms on each figure! |

Griefringer is quite right: Approx. 500 to 1000 Early Middle Ages (in wargamer speak, "Dark Ages"). Approx 1000-1300 High Middle Ages Approx 1300 to 1500 Late Middle Ages So sayeth the Cambridge History of the Middle Ages. Damon. |

I had a look at the Alain Touller figs & they look joly nice :) Just too early, sadly :( Mind you, I can't say I'm unhappy about missing out on a gazillion lots of painting up heraldry LOL Incidentally, in case you were wondering, I'm doing the Reconquista Army of Isabella & Ferdinand
