You missed the "Georgia Affair". Only a couple of those are usefully and repeatably gameable at a tactical level. |

Current conflicts in Iraq and The Stan. Also keen to take a look at "The Georgia Affair". Things are not finished there and indeed may spill over to the Ukraine. Anything in that part of the world would be interesting. Also maybe a conventional war with North Korea and South Korea/UN. Maybe throw in a little Chinese with NK. I really enjoy 'Nam games and am now getting into Iraq with Ambush Alley. I never thought I'd EVER play current affairs Moderns, but AA is such an incredibly written system that I was forced, FORCED, I say, to buy into it! 8)= |

Now, Nazrat, the husky, bent-nosed gents that came to ASK you to play AA were very polite about it. Don't make me send them back to ask for an apology. ;) Glad you like the game, sir! |

Please, Boss, not the goon squad!! The REALLY good news is I just met a guy at the local game store Saturday who is also nuts for the game, so I'm not the only one pushing it on folks around here. |

I have 15mm armies for PLO/Syrians and IDF for the '82 operations (lots of fun), love gaming those. Have 1/700 aircraft for Falklands that make good games
plenty of unpainted lead in 15mm for Falklands and 20mm for the rest (Iraq, Chechnya, Afghanistan)
just not painted. Would also like to get my '79 Nicaragua and SADF/Angola projects started as well
so much lead. |

Fictional Cold war to cold war moved to now! Basicly any interesting force provided its in Westen Europe. reason I am dammed if I am going to have two lots of terrain. Even with fold flatt buildings and hills at 1/72 you run out of space to store it if you fight on something like representative terrain. Having green and desert woud be unthinkable. |

Not sure I have a particular favourite, mostly the obvious ones WW3, Gulf War 1 & 2, 67 & 73 AiW, various counter insurgencies from the 1960s to the present, AK47/Modern Africa, Falklands. |
TodCreasey | 23 Jun 2009 5:59 a.m. PST |
Falklands are tops for me. Two modern forces, not too many supports, lots of great skirmishes. |

Anything from 1960 until now mostly in the air, 1/600th, but lots in 15 & 20mm, used to do 6mm. Fatman |

#1 for me is Arab-Israeli: air, land. Even on the sea there were some great small craft actions (e.g. Battle of Latakia). Missile boat combat is much easier to game. VietNam is next, but only for the air combats. A lot of other areas also attract my interest too: 2nd Korean War, South African border wars and Rhodesian bush war, Desert Storm armor action, urban combat in current Iraq (gotta put those Strykers in use), NATO vs. PACT, Falklands (air & sea only). I might even dabble in some current Afghanistan operations, just as an excuse to use those Canadian Leopard 2A6M tanks. Novels by Larry Bond, and also Harold Coyle are also great for scenario ideas too. |
M1Fanboy | 23 Jun 2009 12:13 p.m. PST |
Me? Twilight 2000 themed games for my 20mm stuff
and it's leading me into some weird places, like what's good in 20mm for Iranians in the 80s and early 90s (ca. Iran-Iraq), I know Rolf makes the Multipurpose stuff
but does anyone make Iranians with G3s and US webgear/helmets? I use FoF and AA for the rules
cracking fun if you ask me. My 1/285 is structured to do the traditional "Soviet Sunday drive to the Rhine" game with FFT2 (Please let 3 come out soon!), but yes, I am structuring it to be flexible and also run the above. It lets me do things like Motor Rifle regiments with BMP-3, for example
I am also considering expanding into Iran-Iraq and possibly a Second Korea idea as well. |
